The Trend range is the latest addition to the Jörnträhus family of products and consists eight models suitable for use as full size family homes, holiday homes, garden annexes, home offices, garden cabins plus garages to match. Trend cabins all have a very modern contemporary look with contra-inclined mono pitched roofs and large walls of windows. While a Trend home would not be out of place appearing on 'Grand Designs' they also fit nicely into both a suburban or rural landscape and are very easy on the eye.
Trend cabins have an even higher specification than our other products. Apart from the smallest Trend 15 cabin, all Trend cabins have as standard triple gazing throughout, a raised seam type zinc coloured steel roof, and zinc coloured steel guttering. They come with white painted internal Pine doors (where specified), pre painted fire resistant ceiling panels, and pre stained Baseco Pine floorboards.
The larger Trend models are available both with a conventional interlocking log construction similar to other Jorntra products, and also with a state of the art modular panel construction with log profiled cladding on the outside that looks exactly the same as the interlocking log construction to an observer. The main benefits of the modular panel construction are extremely short erection times, and extremely low energy consumption. Trend panel houses have even more thermal insulation than our interlocking log homes which are themselves very thermally efficient.
To demonstrate just how quickly a Trend panel house can be erected teams from Jörnträhus and Scandinavian Log Cabins Ltd erected a Trend 140 panel house in the arena at Earls Court for the Ideal Home Show in March 2011 in just four days. The Trend 140 we built was a full sized three bedroom family home complete with working electrics and touch sensitive lighting, a fitted luxury Siemens kitchen, and fully furnished by Linda Barker and Maggie Colvin. A time lapse video we made shows just how quickly the modular panels fit together.
Each modular panel consists of an outer skin of log profiled planking to look exactly like an interlocking log house, a ventilation gap, 400mm of wood pulp insulation, and finally the internal wall surface particle or plasterboard. All the house electrics are contained within the panel so it is just a matter of connecting the panels together to complete the wiring.
All lighting in a Trend panel house uses wireless light switches. Every light fitting contains a wireless receiver which will switch the light on or off or dimmed under the control of a hand held remote control, or from wireless light switches fixed at convenient points on the wall which do not even need batteries. Lighting is all preinstalled with Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting so it is very low energy in keeping with the low energy theme of the Trend house.
Trend panel houses come complete with an air to water heat pump which is the most thermally efficient way to heat your home in the UK. The heat pump draws energy from the surrounding air (even when it is cold outside), and uses it to warm water pipes buried in the insulated concrete slab the Trend panel house is built on. Excess energy is used to heat hot water for the house.
A Trend panel house from ScanVista comes complete with everything you need to move in. Our team will come and install the insulated concrete slab and put all the water pipes under the slab. A team from Jörnträhus will arrive with the house kit and erect it in just a few days, then the team from ScanVista will complete all the work and hand over your new home ready to move in with fitted kitchen and bathroom, under floor heating by heat pump, and remote controlled LED lighting.
