Despite being our smallest cabins the Skalman range are constructed with the same 58mm Pine logs as our permanent houses. They are therefore very solid cabins much stonger and solid than competitive products in this price range. Despite the low price point a Skalman cabin does not compromise on quality. They are fitted with 10mm sealed unit glass double glazed windows while many competitors use plastic windows. The floor is 22mm tongue and grooved Pine floorboards on a suspended frame to raise the cabin clear of the ground. The air flow under the cabin prevents rot and will greatly prolong the life.
Foundations for Skalman cabins are usually simple concrete post foundations which are considerably easier to make, and cost a lot less than a concrete slab. See our section on foundations for more information.
Skalman cabins are provided as standard with a sheet felt roof. As an option shingles or a sheet steel roof may be provided.
The Skalet shed range is identical to the Skalman cabins, but are provided without windows, and with wooden double doors. Skalet sheds are considerably more secure compared to an ordinary garden shed and so are suitable for high value garden equipment.
